i have two cats. one siamese/ragdoll mix named jumbo, and one black cat named star! i got them around 3 years ago, when jumbo was only a little kitten and star was 2 years old! now they've grown up and jumbos 4 and stars 5.
how we got them! we went to a cat cafe and met star, we played with her and she knew how to play fetch with these little spring things. like 6 months later we went back and saw star again AND jumbo. jumbo was being really cute so we took both of them.
how they got their names! jumbo was originally named habanera, but it got changed to jumbo after the cat id picture with the cat named jumbo yuen. i believe stars named after a little white spot on her belly.
is something wrong with them? yes! somethings very wrong with both of them! jumbos really stupid, and stars so silly its scary. i believe they're aliens from another planet.
they're clearly not built for this world. they yearn for their home planet. they both make really weird noises, i believe they're attempting to communicate with their home planet. sometimes jumbo begs for food, and when food is out she loses all interest. i believe she wants ALIEN food. they roll around insanely, i believe this is their alien gesture.
before jumbo and star, when i was really young we had two cats named mikey and henry. they were really sweet cats, but also a little evil. they (im not sure which one) could tell when we didnt like someone, and would piss in their shoes.
(just so you know i wasnt being fr when i said i think my cats are aliens)
hiii ! im akira (my beautiful husband! - violet), but for this post im gonna use my other online name, Minz, because ! theres another akira to be talked about here :3
in total, ive had 3 pets; two dogs and one cat, named grubba, dogwood, and akira respectively. both dogs were boys, and both were VERY big. they completely dwarfed akira, who was only about 1.5 feet long excluding her tail. and unlike akira, both dogs were named after video game characters; dogwood from my sims agents, and grubba from paper mario. meanwhile, akira wasnt actually her name; it had evolved over time from ‘kitty’.
both grubba and dogwood were found in more…normal senses. grubba was taken from a shelter; dogwood was just found on a pet site and picked up from the woman taking care of him. akira was different; my sibling found her as a little kitten living underneath our shed. they asked my mother if they could take care of her. my mother, not believing they could, said ‘if you can catch her, you can keep her’. and they proceeded to catch her.
the only one whose birthday we have a good estimation on is akira, who was 15; since we found her when she was very young, we knew she was born sometime near may—the same month my birthday is. in my family (and by my family i mean mostly me) decided to combine both our birthdays, so theyre celebrated on the same day. grubba was 11-12, and since he was gotten near thanksgiving, i declared his ‘birthday’ would be in november. as for dogwood, who is about 8, i cant exactly remember when we got him, but i gave him a ‘birthday’ in october because i felt it suited him.
all of them have one thing in common; they’re all idiots. akira, for example, would DASH out of any open door she found…to go under our porch and eat cobwebs. she didn’t want to escape. just to eat . cobwebs. grubba was just very chill in general, you could put your foot on him and push slightly (while he was already laying down ofc) and he’d completely flop over. dogwood makes me horribly offended in that while e’s a gluttonous fat fuck, he hates vegetables and most fruits. i give him a strawberry, he doesnt eat it. ungrateful freak. his dumbass also doesnt know how to howl. i dont know why.
even though akira was incredibly small, and both dogs almost went up to my knees, both the dogs knew Not to mess with her. once dogwood, thrilled to bits for some reason, trotted up to akira all happy and tried to sniff her face. she hissed at him, and he immediately left. she did end up becoming slightly friendlier to grubba at the end, though. same thing with dogwood; once, a few months before she passed, dogwood licked her face for some reason. she looked absolutely perplexed.
